This has the dark, emotional kinda feel that those who have heard my verses on The Virtuosouls' "Escape", "Never Give Up" or even "Lost" would expect. For a long period of time I just felt depressed. And I don't mean on some just a few days of sadness kinda sheeit. I mean years of not liking myself, feeling like I couldn't trust anyone regardless and just not happy with how life was going for me. I talk about drinking a lot in my verses and I know it worries some people. So that pretty much explains the second verse.
Buddy actually surprised me with A.D and Alisha doing the chorus. I had already wrote it and planned on doing it myself but he thought it was better to have them perform it. And he was right because they compliment the track very well. I wanted Alex Poesia to do a poem because I had her do one for a previous song called "Bottled Pain" (which was going to be on the album as a bonus song but I left it out. Maybe later?) and felt like this was another song she could write something too. I'm glad she did because she definitely killed it.
